WordPress Production-Ready AMI Updates

Keywords: WordPress - AWS - How to - Upgrade

We’re using the “WordPress Production-Ready” template available here: https://bitnami.com/stack/wordpress-production-ready/multitier. The infrastructure is based on the CloudFormation template (although we’re actually using terraform).

A new WordPress update (5.8.3) was released last week with security fixes. Other Bitnami AWS AMIs for WordPress (https://bitnami.com/stack/wordpress/cloud/aws/amis) have been updated with 5.8.3, but the “Production-Ready” AMI is still on 5.8.2.

When can we expect an updated AMI to be released with the new version? And what is the general timeframe for AMI updates after a new WordPress update is released for the Production-Ready version?

Hi @karthur-fairx,

Thanks for reaching out to us! We have submitted the updated packages to AWS, but they are still in the process of publishing them to the marketplace. They should be available in the following days.

Thanks @jota. How long does that process usually take?

It depends on the load and capacity the AWS team has but it should be ready by next week.
