I am using bitnami/Wordpress (version 5.1) on AWS. php version is 7.2
The site is running fine, but I want to update both Wordpress and the plug-ins. For security, the only open ports are 22, 80, and 443. I don't have ftp ports open.
I have tried setting FS_METHOD to ssh2 in wp-config.php, and set FTP_PUBKEY and FTP_PRIKEY to point at a key pair generated on the EC2 instance, and edited ~/.ssh/auhorized_keys to add the new public key after the one used to ssh into the EC2 instance (the latter being the AWS generated keys). I've set FTP_HOST to the public IP address of the EC2 instance. I've set FTP_USER to bitnami. The file and directory permissions are all correct.
When I try a plug-in update, I get an error message
Update Failed: The ssh2 PHP extension is not available ((the installed one if for an older version of php, pre verison 7, that came with the bitnami stack.)
Any advice on where I get this from? If I need to add a new repository, I don't know how to do this.
Any news on when you will be providing a php7.2 or 7.3 release of Wordpress bitnami for linux?
Many thanks, Jerry
