I migrated a wordpress blog from a standalone wordpress installation to AWS Lightsail.
Before the migration any outbound links on the blog to another site I own would show up with the blogname / referral on the Source/medium on google analytics for the site.
After migration all traffic to the site from the AWS version of the blog shows up as Direct on google analytics.
Here is the scenario thats happening - I click on a link inside a blog post on my wordpress blog(say myblog.com) to take me to another(completely separate) non wordpress website(say xyz.com) that I own. I then go to google analytics for xyz.com and if I check site traffic for acquisition, I will find myblog.com listed as a source.
After I moved myblog.com to the AWS Bitnami hosted platform > in this same scenario the traffic showed up as direct without showing myblog.com anywhere. I hope that explains my problem.
Has anyone faced this issue or know what could be going on here?
