This is the error i get when attempting to log into the wordpress
database. Maybe it doesn't exist but then how does one create it if one
cannot access anything in xampp or wordpress?
/This pasted directly from the response to attempt to log in to wordpress./
Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your
|wp-config.php| file is incorrect or we canÂ’t contact the database
server at |localhost|. This could mean your hostÂ’s database server is down.
- Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
- Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
- Are you sure that the database server is running?
If youÂ’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your
host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support
Try again http://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/setup-config.php?step=1
/end of paste/
I have explored the WordPress Support Forums many times. I have hound
nothing that relates directly to my problem.
Either I have done something wrong or there is a flaw in the setup for
xampp or wordpress. Probably the former but I didn't change anything
except the wp-config.php file.   If I delete that file the wordpress
login fails because it can't find the file. If i leave wp-config.php in
the wordpress folder it can't make a database connection.
I have contacted the host. I I am the host. I am attempting to set up
a local site for development.
