When I try to access my Moodle homepage - Error: Database

Keywords: Moodle - Google Cloud Platform - How to - Other
Description:
For about two weeks I have been getting the following error message when I try to access my Moodle homepage:

Error: Database connection failed

It is possible that the database is overloaded or otherwise not running properly.

The site administrator should also check that the database details have been correctly specified in config.php

I have not changed any relevant settings in the Google cloud console.

As a beginer, what can I do to make it work again?

Best wishes
Philip

Hello @philipp.c,

We have a Support Tool that will gather relevant information for us to analyze your configuration and logs. Could you please execute it on the machine where the stack is running by following the steps described in the guide below?

Please note that you need to paste the code ID that is shown at the end.

Hello @philipp.c

You are running out of storage:

-----------------------------------
Check free amount of disk space
-----------------------------------
Running: df -h
In: /opt/bitnami

Output:

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
udev 488M 0 488M 0% /dev
tmpfs 100M 12M 88M 12% /run
/dev/sda1 9.8G 9.4G 0 100% /
tmpfs 499M 0 499M 0% /dev/shm
tmpfs 5.0M 0 5.0M 0% /run/lock
tmpfs 499M 0 499M 0% /sys/fs/cgroup

Could you try if resizing the server solves the issues? Find below our documentation:
https://docs.bitnami.com/google/faq/administration/resize-server-disk/

After that, try to restart MySQL:

sudo /opt/bitnami/ctlscript.sh restart mysql

Hi davidg,

do you know a solution for my problem with the server?

Best regards
Philipp

Hello @philipp.c

Sorry for the misunderstanding. The answer about resizing the server was directed to you. It should help to start MySQL.
