Hello there, (don't know if this is the right category, but could not find the virtual machine category)
i'm going crazy with this stuff, hope to find someone who can help me.
I downloaded a virtual machine vmx, what i want to do is to configure a static ip address and move the virtual machine into a ESXi server. Then i would be happy to reach the machine via FTP, HTTP etc.
I am not able to do that, can't understand why.
Now i'm in this state:
Downloaded the vmware virtual machine
the virtual machine is configured as NAT, the hosting machine is on a business LAN with a static ip address
Played it and logged into
open the browser on the hosting machine and tried to reach 127.0.0.1 - can't reach
try to open an ssh tunnel via putty as described in the guide - can't open
Tried to give a static ip address to linux - OK
changed the network adapter of the virtual machine from NAT to bridged
typed the new static address into the browser of the hosting machine - reach wordpress
The problem is that i want to access to DB configuration and to FTP folders htdocs, but with a different address from the localhost one this access is denied. so really don't know what to do now.
This machine should be moved in the future on a ESXi server, and i shall reach db, ftp everything from my computer on the same network (every machine has a static address) is there a way to OPEN ftp, db via browser connections on the LAN ?
Thank you for any suggestion
