I just started a Bitnami Disourse instance on GCP and I am trying to get email working
I have set up an acct on mailjet and entered the SMTP smtp in the configuration file
and I now see the configuration from the Discourse admin interface,
but sending the test email fails from the email admin screen.
Since the test admin email test does not provide any error information, I have gone back to basics.
I tried testing my mailjet acct just using the python console which worked.
I then tried the same code in a python console on the Discourse server.
The same code failed in the first step:
Python 3.4.2 (default, Oct 8 2014, 10:45:20)
[GCC 4.9.1] on linux

>>> import smtplib
>>> # Send the message via our own SMTP server.
... s = smtplib.SMTP('in-v3.mailjet.com', 587)

Is GCP or Bitnami blocking outgoing SMTP connections?
How can I establish and outgoing SMTP connection from a Bitnami Discourse insance on GCP?
