It seems the script was correctly added to the SysV init directories, so the script must not be working correctly. From what I see above, you tested it, and you were able to stop and start services:
sudo /etc/init.d/bitnami-stacker stop
sudo /etc/init.d/bitnami-stacker start
Could you check if the script looks like the following? Since you installed the stack as the root user:
su root -c "/opt/lampstack-5.6.30-2/ctlscript.sh $@"
You could also try to modify it to log something, to check if anything gets logged during startup:
su root -c "/opt/lampstack-5.6.30-2/ctlscript.sh $@" | tee /tmp/bitnami-stacker-startup.txt
