Setup a production PHP MySQL web application on Amazon using Bitnami WAMP stack

Keywords: Tomcat - Amazon Web Services - How to - Other
Description:
Hello,

I want to setup a production PHP MySQL web application on Amazon using your WAMP stack. Is it advisable to use WAMP stack for a production application on the web? If no, please what best recommendation do you suggest I use on your platform.

I have the application running on my local WAMP server now but want to move it to the web ASAP.

Thank you
Michael

Hi @mnwuzor,

Our stacks are fully production ready as individual components are regularly updated and maintained. I recommend you to use the AWS LAMP stack], which is for Linux. You can find all information about it in the following section of our manual:

https://docs.bitnami.com/aws/infrastructure/lamp/

Best regards,
Michiel

Hi Michiel @michiel,
Thank you for your response.
I have browsed through the page and I think I understand the contents.
However, am I going to be running all those Linux Pseudo codes each time? Are there no buttons to click for them to run???
Please I would rather use Windows instead of Linux. I may not be able to remember all those codes each time. Yes I learnt how to operate Linux but not for sensitive environments like the productive web server.
Kindly advice please.
Thank you

Hi @mnwuzor,

Unfortunately it’s necessary to access your instance though ssh and to run some bash commands. However, everything is well documented so it’s a matter of following the steps to set everything up.

Please can I run your WAMP Stack instead of your LAMP stack.
Thank you

Hi @mnwuzor,

Yes it would be possible to run WAMP on EC2 if you prefer. You can find more information about it in the following tutorial: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/WindowsGuide/install-WAMP.html
