Remove '/wordpress' from the end of site url

Keywords: WordPress - Virtual Machines - How to - Domain Name (DNS)

Description:
Hi

I have my website www.example.com which is currently running in VM Ware.

  1. The actual webroot is : C:\Bitnami\wordpress-5.7.2-0\apps\wordpress\htdocs

  2. In C:\Bitnami\wordpress-5.7.2-0\apache2\htdocs\ [index.html] I added a js code to let it automatically jum to ( window.location.href=) ‘/wordpress’

  3. Typing ’ www.example.com ’ can successfully reload to /wordpress, but I don’t want ‘/wordpress’ to appear in my site url.

  4. I had tried to edit the [define(‘WP_SITEURL’)] and [‘WP_HOME’] of [wp-config] under C:\Bitnami\wordpress-5.7.2-0\apache2\htdocs\apps\wordpress\htdocs, but the url does not successfully direct .

  5. I also tried editing the [httpd.conf] under C:\Bitnami\wordpress-5.7.2-0\apache2\conf, to change the defined document root to be “C:\Bitnami\wordpress-5.7.2-0\apps\wordpress\htdocs”, but the url does not successfully direct .

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!.

Thanks and Sincerely,
Tim

Hi @timtsai,

Try this:

  • Open use_wordpress.bat in C:\Bitnami\wordpress-5.7.2-0.
  • Execute:
cd apps\wordpress
.\bnconfig.exe --appurl /
