In the old days I had a site at mydomain.com with links in places like Twitter pointing to mydomain.com/tools
Recently I decided to implement a new website at mydomain.com, but keep the old website by using a subdomain for it, so it's now at subdomain.mydomain.com/tools.
In order to prevent these old links from being dead links, I'd like to implement a redirect of the pattern mydomain.com/tools to subdomain.mydomain.com/tools.
I understand this is done via some kind of 301 redirect scripted in
htaccess. Could someone point me to where this file in Lightsail/Bitnami Linux environment is found, and perhaps suggest general steps for implementing a redirect? ... if this is indeed the best option. I'm a newb with Apache so any feedback would be appreciated.
