As mentioned in the linked thread, if adding the required configuration in the
/opt/bitnami/apps/wordpress/htaccess.conf file and restarting Apache does not work, we highly recommend you to check with the plugin developers in case they do not support our standard of disabling
.htaccess files by default. Alternatively, you can try to enable
.htaccess files, but note we do not recommend it for security and performance reasons.
I also don't know if WordPress allows to do these changes and it will continue working properly, that's why I recommend you to check in the WordPress forums. My understanding is that if you are using a supported plugin, WordPress should continue working fine, but I think double-checking in the WordPress forums is a good idea.
Apart from that, can you post the link to the plugin you are referring to? This way, other users in the future can use to address their need.
