I am using the AWS EC2 MEAN stack. I have an AngularJS site that I am trying to share data with using MongoDB and on the other end a Python script that is acquiring data over another protocol. No issues on the MEAN stack with the Angular deployment (the site has been up for like 3 weeks) and no issues with my Python script (it works like it needs to and with consistency) so all green lights there.
Where I am stuck is at MongoDB (IN GENERAL!) I have never used MongoDB before. Before I get the RTFM lecture, I've spent about the last 48 hours, nearly every waking hour, trying to get Mongo to work like I want it from both the JS side and the Python side, with no joy. That's why I'm asking this question. I've tried solutions from too many stack overflow and other sites to even list.
I have installed Pymongo using http://www.informit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=2246943 instructions and other instructions I have found.
My version of Python on my stack (on aws as of 9/5/2016) is 2.7.11.
It appears to install fine.
But when I try to test it using "import pymongo" it says
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "", line 1, in
ImportError: No module named pymongo
I do not have bson installed.
I did uninstall and reinstall the pymongo package several times.
So I'm kind of at an impasse here. Please help me. If someone can tell me why it says it's installing that module fine but then acting like it doesn't exist I would be very grateful for your assistance.
