thanks for the suggestion but that changed nothing. both inside and outside use_edx [EDIT: and inside transifex.py] I can curl -i transifex and printenv the correct proxy settings. I've since found https://github.com/transifex/transifex-client/issues/126
and have started to troubleshoot in
in hopes of getting anywhere. but to no avail so far. Is it normal that i18n-pull tries to use port=None? why would it do that?
EDIT: added the port to host in ~/.transifexrc so now the error changed to .... port=443 .... but persists
EDIT2: transifex technical support says I should update tx-client to 0.12.4. how do I do that? I don't know how to call tx other than from within that specific py script - it appears not to be installed. I presume I need to be in use_edx and then in pip or something like that?
EDIT3: inside of use_edx neither pip list nor python : help("modules") shows tx or transifex anything. outside of use_edx, pip isn't installed and python shows no tx or transifex. Bitnami, how did you do this?
EDIT4: I now found /edx/apps/edx/venvs/edxapp/bin/tx but nowhere in /edx/apps/edx/edx-platform/setup.py is there any reference to transifex
EDIT5: Great step forward! I wget'd https://pypi.python.org/packages/9c/8a/64afb244c022637a18490394bdda4a2d5d669e321a1ba6ca4e2ec0ed4fab/transifex-client-0.12.4.tar.gz#md5=a4eefdf7d29198bc8363e087d26712d1 into /edx/apps/edx/venvs/edxapp/lib/python2.7/site-packages where I backed up the folder txclib and created the folder transifex_client-0.12.4-py2.7.egg-info. I then copied from that wget'd extracted tar the folder txclib to site-packages and the folder transifex_client.egg-info to the latter created. Then I edited /edx/apps/edx/venvs/edxapp/bin/tx to use the 12.4 version. now I have this new error:
SSl error hostname 'proxy.charite.de' doesn't match either of '*.transifex.com', 'transifex.com'
