I was making a new topic, but kept getting referred to this; I seem to have a similar problem, and it isn't due the username.
I use this command:
ssh -N -L 8888:127.0.0.1:80 -i ~/.ssh/google_compute_engine alextimmer@--.---.--.--
but then nothing happens. My CMD doesn't even go to a newline, it just sit there.
Whenever I change my name to bitnami I do get a direct response of 'Permission denied (publickey)'.
If I change the key to I also get a response of 'no such file or directory'.
So the command quoted above does have an existing user and key, but why is there no response?
I'm at a total loss
Edit: OK, i started over, made a new VM, reconfigured the keys, added them to the VM, can login via SSH using the key, but whenever I setup the SSH tunnel to access PHPMyAdmin, the command just sits there. Now I've let it sit for a while and eventually I get
ssh: connect to host [IPADDRESS] port 22: Connection timed out
Edit 2: Been fooling around with the ports, and now I can get to the site via 127.0.0.1, but when I go to /phpmyadmin/ i get this response:
This site can’t be reached
127.0.0.1 refused to connect.
I've checked all the docs over and over again, I do believe I didn't miss any configuration. Why won't it connect?
Edit 3: For some reason when I type 127.0.0.1:8888/phpmyadmin it keeps omitting the port, resulting in said error. For some miraculous reason however, after 15 tries, it does work
