I have a virtually new LAMP php 7 installation with Bitnami on a Lightsail platform and I have the website all up and running and its fine.
I have another Bitnami lightsail instance and that is fine.
I can edit the php.ini file fine and have turned off opcache and have things like
memory_limit = 1000M
max_execution_time = 12000
max_input_time = 3000
However, no matter what I do, I cant get a certain script which I have been using for 20 years with little variation to complete. I suspect that its a php7 thing and/or a mysqli thing. But I simply dont know.
Everything works fine, but a script that looks at less than 1000 entries in a database freezes halfway through with no errors. It just stops halfway through the html transfer. I have turned off buffering and am at a loss what to do, I keep going round in circles.
I cant understand why a Bitnami lightsail instance with 500mb Ram works fine but the new one with 2gb ram is freezing. I copied it from an instance.
I suspect that it might be a mysql setting or phpmysql setting? When I coppied the instance over I had to reset the STRICT thing in mysql and have read somewhere that changing a memory setting in phpmysql or mysql might be required. For example, when I first googled this iisue I found a guide to changing memory_limit and some reference to a mysql setting that might also need changing, but I cant find that now.
