Permissions error when updating Mautic 3.2

I want to update Mautic from 3.1.2 to 3.2 and I get the following error.

bitnami@ip-xxx-xx-xx-xxx:~$ sudo su daemon -s /bin/bash -c "/opt/bitnami/php/bin/php /opt/bitnami/apps/mautic/htdocs/bin/console mautic:update:apply -e prod"

Are you sure you wish to update Mautic to the latest version? y

Step 4 [---->-----------------------] Extracting PackagePHP Warning: ZipArchive::extractTo(/opt/bitnami/apps/mautic/htdocs/.htaccess): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /opt/bitnami/apps/mautic/htdocs/app/bundles/CoreBundle/Update/Step/InstallNewFilesStep.php on line 91

The Mautic update could not complete successfully because of the following error: Could not extract the contents of the ZIP archive to the filesystem.

Thanks for using Bitnami. Did you follow this guide https://docs.bitnami.com/installer/apps/mautic/administration/upgrade/?

Thank you very much for your answer.

I still haven't been able to fix the problem.

The document that you indicate is outdated.

As of Mautic 3, the "app" folder changes to "bin"

So the update command would be:

sudo su daemon -s /bin/bash -c "installdir/php/bin/php installdir/apps/mautic/htdocs/bin/console mautic:update:apply -e prod"

Also, the command to clear cache doesn't work either.

Still, I can't find a solution for my situation.

Did you install php-zip?

Hi Ibone,

Thanks for your support.

I just ran the command:

sudo opt/bitnami/php/bin/php -m | grep zip

And the answer is "zip"

It makes me think that the php-zip is installed

Any other idea?

Could you run the following command?

sudo chmod 664 /opt/bitnami/apps/mautic/htdocs/.htaccess

You now have something like this:
if you run the following command

ls -la  /opt/bitnami/apps/mautic/htdocs/.htaccess

You get this:

-rw-r--r--  1 root daemon  5553 Nov 16 15:35 .htaccess

And you need:

-rw-rw-r--  1 root daemon     104 Oct 28 08:44 .htaccess

How do I get -rw-rw-r-- 1 root daemon 104 Oct 28 08:44 .htaccess?

I just ran these two commands:

sudo chmod 664 /opt/bitnami/apps/mautic/htdocs/.htaccess

ls -la /opt/bitnami/apps/mautic/htdocs/.htaccess

And I get:

-rw-rw-r-- 1 root daemon 5880 Dec 3 12:33 /opt/bitnami/apps/mautic/htdocs/.htaccess

Could you rerun the command to update? Now daemon should have the permissions

bitnami@ip-xxx:~$ sudo su daemon -s /bin/bash -c "/opt/bitnami/php/bin/php /opt/bitnami/apps/mautic/htdocs/app/console mautic:update:find -e prod"
Could not open input file: /opt/bitnami/apps/mautic/htdocs/app/console
bitnami@ip-xxx:~$ sudo su daemon -s /bin/bash -c "/opt/bitnami/php/bin/php /opt/bitnami/apps/mautic/htdocs/app/console mautic:update:apply -e prod"
Could not open input file: /opt/bitnami/apps/mautic/htdocs/app/console

This is line 91 to which the error refers.

And here is someone with a similar problem and a possible solution.

sudo su daemon -s /bin/bash -c "/opt/bitnami/php/bin/php /opt/bitnami/apps/mautic/htdocs/bin/console mautic:update:find -e prod" sudo su daemon -s /bin/bash -c "/opt/bitnami/php/bin/php /opt/bitnami/apps/mautic/htdocs/bin/console mautic:update:apply -e prod"

Solved!

I just managed to update Mautic to 3.2.1

Previously it was updated by a programmer, so I opened the history to see how he did it.

The commands is as follows:

sudo su -
cd /opt/bitnami/apps/mautic/htdocs
php bin/console mautic:update:apply
php bin/console mautic:update:apply --finish

I really don't know what the problem is and why these commands work.

If anyone has an explanation or a solution to make it work with normal commands again, I appreciate it.
