Permission to edit /opt/bitnami/couchdb/etc/local.ini

For some reason local.ini is read only. I’m logged in via SSH,using putty,

I have to change it for “Connect To CouchDB From A Different Machine”

Hello @jhchadwick63,

For security reasons, only couchdb user has write permissions for local.ini file. I would suggest you to access via SSH and edit it using sudo. E.g, to edit it with VIM, you should use the command below:

sudo vim /opt/bitnami/couchdb/etc/local.ini

Other alternatives are nano or emacs.

I hope it helps

I got it thanks, access to Fauxton works, I just had to stop and start the server as shown here

Hi @jhchadwick63,

Nice to know you solved it. Thanks for sharing it with us.
