i am getting strange error in installation

Hi @me_bin09;

Gitlab installer needs to create 'git' user with its home folder in order to allow gitlab-shell to work.
Your issue should be due to using an old version of Gitlab installer + not installing it with root privileges.

Try to install the stack with root privileges.

Hello! I am trying to upgrade version 6.1.0 to a newer one and have lots of issues,
restore of backup into 6.9 version did work, and restore into 7.13 (with all steps and mysql to postgres conversion) also fails (error 500 on homepage in both cases right after the old database import)

Can you please post a link to 6.1.0 version download? I need it for experiments with upgrading inside a VM (afraid to break the production server, almost broke it with my attempts to upgrade )

Hi @myanstu

In order to complete the upgrade process you must:

Upgrade you instance to the 7.14.3 version (latest 7.X version), you can follow this guide
Upgrade now from 7.14.3 to 8.4.2, following this guide
Upgrading from 8.X to latest version, following this guide
