Older stacks for Testlink on OSX

Keywords: TestLink - OS X - Technical issue - Upgrade
Description:
I’m running into multiple issues with the current Testlink 1.9.20 version on OSX. Mainly caused by xmlrpc calls failing (create new testcase, create new suite with parent etc) which used to work.
I’d like to get some download links for some older OSX Testlink version stacks (1.9.19-1, 1.9.18-1 and 1.9.17-1) to see if I still run into those issues.

Hi @pasahec839

Thanks for using Bitnami TestLink!

I’m running into multiple issues with the current Testlink 1.9.20 version on OSX. Mainly caused by xmlrpc calls failing (create new testcase, create new suite with parent etc) which used to work.

Do you think this is related to the new version of the application itself? If this is something on our side, we would very much appreciate if you could share with us how we can reproduce this error.

I’d like to get some download links for some older OSX Testlink version stacks (1.9.19-1, 1.9.18-1 and 1.9.17-1) to see if I still run into those issues.

Sure, here you have the link to those versions:

Doubtful it’s the stack’s fault.
First error I ran into was I’m unable to assign platforms to the test plan and test cases. I tried both the testlink interface and TestLink-API-Python-client to do that. In the interface I can add platforms but they never end up in the Add / Remove Platforms to Test Plan view. So I can’t assign them to the testplan via the UI. The operation also fails when trying to do it via the python module.

Steps to repro:

  1. Install bitnami-testlink-1.9.20-23-r56-osx-x86_64-vm.dmg
  2. Start the stack
  3. Access the Testlink page
  4. Login with default user (user, find the password in cat /home/bitnami/bitnami_credentials)
  5. Create a new Test Project
  6. Create a new Test Plan (make it Active and Public)
  7. Create a new Test Suite and Test Case in that suite
  8. Create e new Platform (mark it On Design and On Execution)
  9. Go to Add/Remove Platforms and try to add the newly created platform to the Assigned Platforms

Expected Result:
Can add the newly created platform to the Assigned Platforms

Actual Result:
Newly created platform not present in Available platforms.

Update: tested with bitnami-testlink-1.9.19-1-osx-x86_64-vm.dmg and issue no longer reproduces. Most likely it’s an issue with the TestLink version.

Hi @pasahec839

Thanks for the detailed steps and glad to see it worken in 1.9.19! I’d also say this is something related to the new version of the app, it’d be nice if you could let the official developers of the application know of this so they can solve it for its next release:
