Thank you for replying Jota! After digging in, we realized Clamav was installed as a module with webmin/virtualmin. That being said, as a Bitnami newbie we initially thought it was part of your AMI because after uninstalling webmin/virtualmin, clamav kept reinstalling itself!
If by chance anyone else finds their way here, this is what we had to do to get rid of it:
sudo apt-get --purge remove clamav clamav-base clamav-daemon clamav-freshclam libclamav2
