It's not something critical but I think it's something we should fix on future versions of the stack. More info at:
I created a task to fix it. We have included it in our backlog. As the impact of the issue is moderate, there are no immediate plans to work on it. Nevertheless, it will be considered for future application versions.
In the meantime, you can use this workaround:
- Create a backup of the database (just in case). More info about how to do it on this link
- Update the encondig of your database. In order to do so, open a Windows terminal (you can double-click on the executable use_moodle available on Moodle installation directory), connect to MySQL and run the commands below:
ALTER DATABASE databasename CHARACTER SET utf8mb4 COLLATE utf8mb4_unicode_ci;
SELECT CONCAT("ALTER TABLE ", TABLE_SCHEMA, '.', TABLE_NAME," CONVERT TO CHARACTER SET utf8mb4 COLLATE utf8mb4_unicode_ci;") AS ExecuteTheString FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES WHERE TABLE_SCHEMA="bitnami_moodle" AND TABLE_TYPE="BASE TABLE"; CONVERT TO CHARACTER SET utf8mb4
We will update this thread once we have more news.
