OK, I was able to find it, but I'm not getting anywhere.
According to the myBB forum, I would need to get into the phpmyadmin console to reset the admin password, but I can't get in. It tells me it only accepts connections from 127.0.0.1. I looked up the documentation on how to deal with that and I tried both methods with no success. I even tried the riskier technique of modifying myphpadmin's httpd-app-conf file to allow any address to access. I restarted Apache as instructed, but it doesn't look like it picked up this file. I modified the text of the error message about using 127.0.0.1 which was also in that file as an attempt to test it and the text of the error didn't change, so it looks like it's getting the error message from somewhere else.
I tried uninstalling mybb and reinstalling, but the second time around it only prompted me for some settings and not all the settings from the initial install. I tried uninstalling and deleting the mybb directory and making sure the mybb directory in MySQL's data directory was also gone, but it still didn't prompt me for the info that is now screwed up.
How do I scrub an installation of myBB from the server so it will install fresh?
