Description:
The WordPress instance has been configured to use subfolders instead of subdomains to navigate to different sites, which is working correctly, but we also want to be able to pass in subdomains that would relate to a specific user. The subdomain should have no impact on the site navigation, but will help to populate some additional information as we load the subdirectory-defined site. I’m pretty sure it has something to do with the Apache RewriteRule configuration, but am not familiar enough with the syntax to make this change. Anyone have this use case? We were able to accomplish this using another WordPress provider, but have not been able to with Bitnami.

Hi @tlusk,

I do not know if WordPress allows you use subdomains and folders at the same time, that’s something you will need to ask the WordPress’ developers to know more about it

https://wordpress.org/support/

To give you more information about the Bitnami’s configuration, the WordPress’ configuration files for Apache are inside the /opt/bitnami/apache/conf/vhosts folder. You can find there the default virtual hosts for http and https. You can add there new virtual hosts if needed as explained in our documentation

https://docs.bitnami.com/aws/apps/wordpress/administration/redirect-custom-domains/

Happy to help!
