Move store to Bitnami

Keywords: Magento - AWS - How to - Other

Description:
Hi! I have a Magento 2.3.5 store hosting in SiteGround but I wanna migrate it to a Bitnami instance in ASW (I have other store there and I very happy)

How I can create this instance and move my store? I search in AWS and only see that you guys offer Magento 2.4

Can I my 2.3.5 to an 2.4 instance? What I need to do? Btw, after move tho AWS I would like to upgrade this store to Magento 2.4.

Please help me.

Hi @badinmagento,

During the deployment process, you can select some old versions of the solution

Once you migrate your data to a 2.3.5 instance, you can follow this guide to update the Magento store to 2.4

https://docs.bitnami.com/aws/apps/magento/administration/upgrade/

Remember to create a backup of the site to be able to recover it in case something goes wrong during the upgrade process.

https://docs.bitnami.com/aws/faq/administration/backup-restore-server/

Hi! Thank you for the reply. I launch the 2.3.5 instance, but I need a guide to do the migration. What I need to do to move the data from SiteGround to AWS?

Hi @badinmagento,

you will need to create and restore a backup in the application

https://docs.bitnami.com/aws/apps/magento/administration/backup-restore/

The Magento’s developers can also provide more options to migrate your current deployment.

Thank you for the reply, but my store is in siteground, this guide is for a instance in bitnami. I try to follow but I get errors

Hi @badinmagento,

I do not know how the Siteground’s Magento is installed/configured. They should know how to migrate the data from their platform to another one. Our guide basically explains how to enable the maintenance mode and how to copy the required folders in the Bitnami installation, you will need to do something similar in Siteground.

Thanks
