Hi thanks for your reply, firstly my code
Ok, I copied all my website files via FTP to my PC, then I installed Bitnami Wordpress, I copied all my website files into the htdocs folder of Bitnami. I then exported my database from my Website (not cloud) via an export utility DB Migrate.
I then altered the local wp-config.php file to point to the database, and then locally used phpmyadmin to import the website database. The site then runs locally, even though it's probably still fetching things from my live site (not updated the urls in the database as yet) . I wanted to login to use a plugin to update the urls in the database to point locally, but I can't get to this step. Manually, I'm a bit wobbly about.
So the url for my website locally is https://localhost:81/wordpress
Hope that explains the first part of your question. It doesn't return an error about SSL in Opera, but in Firefox it gives an error
Secure Connection Failed
The connection to localhost:81 was interrupted while the page was loading.
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
I didn't do anything with the SSL certificates, it's a free facility of my webhost, and I don't want or need it for my local site testing (am just wanting to try out design options on a non live site).
Yes after entering login details on an http link I get the same error and redirected to https again.
Hope that answers everything, I would just like to try out changing a theme setting that up and load it back to the main site. So SSL isn't really needed.
