Describe here your question/suggestion/issue (expected and actual results):
I'm not a developer, so please be gentle. I've searched these forums and couldn't find anyone asking the same question, but if I missed it please point me in the right direction. Thanks!
I set up an instance of WordPress using AWS Lightsail, did the default WordPress install, connected manageWP to the new blog, cloned my site from my old WordPress to the new WordPress...all is working well. However, I'm stuck and can't quite find the path forward. manageWP can't upgrade plugins/WordPress itself remotely because it lacks remote permissions.
The manageWP techs pointed me to this article for how to solve the problem:
I am finding it confusing in terms of putting what where. AWS uses a private certification for SSH authentication, but that's a file I downloaded onto my machine. I could upload it to the server and put in the path for it, but is that the right solution? What about the public certificate?
Basically I'm wondering how much of that daunting list I need to complete to allow manageWP to remotely manage my blog. I'm really surprised that I can't seem to find any how-to guides anywhere on how to make this work...manageWP and AWS aren't exactly unknown tool.
Thanks so much for any hints or pointers in the right direction.
