Logo not changing on Mobile screen

We checked that the icon is getting changed correctly, so the issue is in your phone device.

We believe your issue is that you already created an icon in your Android screen, but it is not getting updated.

It is possible that Android does not check for updates on the icon, so you would need to delete the icon in the home screen, and then create it again like you did in the first place.

Note: We recommend you to refresh the page after loading, in case it was cached by the device before.

Hi @jatin.parmar, you are not changing the proper icon.

The one you are changing is for the iOS/Android homescreen (e.g. when you save your website as an app launcher icon in your homescreen).

For changing the login icon you need to edit this:

Hi @jatin.parmar,

It seems that logo is in the login page, only visible in the mobile site.

After inspecting it, it seems it is not possible to change the logo via the admin panel, instead you need to edit CSS manually.

In that case, open "/opt/bitnami/apps/canvaslms/htdocs/app/stylesheets/bundles/mobile_auth.scss", and edit the line below:

  background-image: url("/images/mobile_login/canvas_logo_login.svg");

Alternatively you can edit the following file:

/opt/bitnami/apps/canvaslms/htdocs/public/images/mobile_login/canvas_logo_login.svg

Then, once modified or replaced the image, regenerate CanvasLMS assets:

sudo /opt/bitnami/use_canvaslms
cd /opt/bitnami/apps/canvaslms/htdocs
RAILS_ENV=production bundle exec rake brand_configs:generate_and_upload_all

After that your login icon will be changed.

Hi Marcos,

I have done the provided as follow.

But in Mobile browser.. Same Canvas logo is appearing in Chrome, Firefox browser While is desktop, laptop it is showing custom logo.

Hi @jatin.parmar, you are right, the command to compile assets I posted above was the wrong one. In addition to that you will need to install yarn and babel-cli. Find the commands below:

$ npm install --global babel-cli
$ npm install --global yarn@1.10.1
$ rm -rf /opt/bitnami/apps/canvaslms/htdocs/public/dist/brandable_css/*
$ LANG=en_US.UTF-8 LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 CANVAS_BUILD_CONCURRENCY=1 bundle exec rake canvas:compile_assets --trace RAILS_ENV=production

(note that the last command may take more than 30 minutes)

After that you will be able to see the login page with your new icon, for example:

Could you give us more details on the error, and what service is failing? Also, could you please download and execute our Support tool on the machine? How to Run the Bitnami Support Tool

Hi @jatin.parmar, that is weird, you mentioned having uploaded it successfully before.

In order for us to investigate the issue in the Bitnami Support tool, could you run it in the following way with the root user?

/opt/canvaslms/bnsupport-tool --syncdebugtrace /tmp/bnsupport-debug.txt

After that, please compress the bnsupport-debug.txt in a Zip file and upload it to the Bitnami Community, or to a server, and send it here.

Next, as the Bitnami Support tool is not working properly for you, please check the following files:

CanvasLMS log files, located at /opt/bitnami/apps/canvaslms/htdocs/log/*.log?
Apache error log: /opt/bitnami/apache2/logs/error_log
Errors when starting CanvasLMS services:
```
sudo /opt/bitnami/ctlscript.sh restart
```

If new lines get added to the logs after restarting, please let us know of them.

Regarding the production log, what you could do is to provide the last 500 entries using this command

sudo tail -n 500 /opt/bitnami/apps/canvaslms/htdocs/log/production.log

The production.log files do not show anything meaningful, whereas the error_log entries show a lot of unexpected-end-of-stream errors.

First of all, do you have a backup that you can restore, so you do not have your production site down?

Hi @jatin.parmar, checking your error log it seems like Apache is running.

When you said this, what did you mean?

By doing above command my application is not starting.

Do you mean that sudo /opt/bitnami/ctlscript.sh start is failing? (where /opt/bitnami is the installation directory) Or do you mean that CanvasLMS is throwing an error?

Any screenshot identifying the error would help.

We have backup in tar format.
