Job for bitnami.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status bitnami.servic

Type: Suggestion

Description:
Hi

I tried to add the SSL to my site lilletots.no, but it went down. I used this guide so install the SSL:
https://lightsail.aws.amazon.com/ls/docs/en_us/articles/amazon-lightsail-using-lets-encrypt-certificates-with-wordpress

Then this error is showing:
Job for bitnami.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See “systemctl status bitnami.service” and “journalctl -xe” for details.

Hi @pedersen.joakim84,

Please take a look at this other thread, the user had a similar issue

Hi Jota

I followed the steps and came to this step where Im not sure what to add on the “Bitnami installation directory”

Here is the message:

Hi again.

I also got this message when I tried to start the services:
sudo /opt/bitnami/ctlscript.sh restart

Job for bitnami.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See “systemctl status bitnami.service” and “journalctl -xe” for details.

This is a problem with the Apache’s configuration. It seems that file doesn’t exist or points to a non-existing file. Could you please recover the previous certificate you had or generate a new one?

https://docs.bitnami.com/aws/apps/wordpress/administration/create-ssl-certificate-apache/

Note: The paths in our guide are different than the ones you need to use. You can copy the certificates from /opt/bitnami/apache2/conf/ to /opt/bitnami/apache/conf/bitnami/certs/

Im using AWS Lightsail if that would help.
I did like you wrote, I got this message:

Any help is appreciated.

Did you create the csr file?

sudo openssl genrsa -out /opt/bitnami/apache/conf/bitnami/certs/server.key 2048
sudo openssl req -new -key /opt/bitnami/apache/conf/bitnami/certs/server.key -out /opt/bitnami/apache/conf/bitnami/certs/cert.csr

sudo /opt/bitnami/ctlscript.sh restart apache
