Describe here your question/suggestion/issue (expected and actual results):
Please excuse me if I am totally off track but I am kinda new to LAMP instances and AWS.
I am trying to get an php application to send email notifications via SMTP. I keep getting the following error message:
ERROR: AUTH not accepted from server: 530 Must issue a STARTTLS command first.
The SMTP send was working on our old server (GoDaddy) so it appears to be something I am missing in the Bitnami instance.
My php.ini file in /opt/bitnami/php/etc has extension=php_openssl.dll uncommented.
However when in a terminal session, i checked and openssl is installed but I got the following message when checking versioning.
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library php_openssl.dll cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0
The php_openssl.dll file is missing from the php folder.
So i guess my question is, could the missing DLL file be cause for the SMTP error?
and if so, how do I get that openssl file?
