I'm running an AWS Lightsail instance running:
I'm having some issues trying to install some packages. Mostly the errors involve the package failing to install due to being unable to find the correct 'node-gyp' directories / binary.
I have attempted to install node-gyp using
sudo npm install -g node-gyp
When i do this it successfully tells me that it has been installed as v. 7.1.2 and lists the following print out:
sudo npm -g install node-gyp
npm WARN deprecated email@example.com: request has been deprecated, see https://github.com/request/request/issues/3142
npm WARN deprecated firstname.lastname@example.org: this library is no longer supported
/opt/bitnami/nodejs/bin/node-gyp -> /opt/bitnami/nodejs/lib/node_modules/node-gyp/bin/node-gyp.js
updated 1 package in 2.508s
When i try to find out if this is installed globally i run the following:
npm list -g --depth 0
which lists the following:
So, I'm a little confused here by if it' is "Actually" installing it globally.
I'm unable to get some applications working because of this. They will install correctly as packages are failing due to the inability to find the node-gyp binary it needs to.
I'm also unsure if this is because of bitnami's node stack folder structure being abnormal compared to the default node/npm install locations.
Any help is appreciated.
