Installing the SSL certificate on the bitnami server


I plan to get a digicert SSL certificate and would like to install it on the server. I want both http and https running on the server. Where do I install the server and what are the changes required to apache config file?

Thanks guys, I’ve found this topic very interesting.
I would like to install a CA certificate directly on subdomain, but I’ve discovered that every CA allows a domain certification only.
So I would like to understand if you have used a CA that allows to certificate the subdomain or if you have found a different way to manage this (like a domain with redirection on bitnamiapp subdomain), or what else?

I’m not sure if I understand what you mean, so I’m going to use and example to try to explain it. If I’m wrong tell it to me please.

If this is what you ask, the answer is yes, you can do it, but be sure that you buy a certificate for the domain * This kind of certificates are called wildcard certificates.

You need to change “/opt/bitnami/apache2/conf/bitnami/bitnami.conf” for Google Compute

I am using Bitnami and i got certificates from they give me three files

and in this file /opt/bitnami/apache2/conf/bitnami/bitnami.conf if updated these two
SSLCertificateFile “/opt/bitnami/apache2/conf/ssl_cert/xxxxx.crt”
SSLCertificateKeyFile “/opt/bitnami/apache2/conf/xxxxx.key”

and in this file /opt/bitnami/apache2/conf/extra/httpd-ssl.conf i updated these two

But still its showing “i” not secure and Your connection is not private in chrome browser
