I am attempting to upgrade from an earlier installation of 2.2.5-3. I have uninstalled that to make it a new installation. I have set environment variables, paths, .gemrc and my batch files to the new naming conventions. I have tried many different resolutions such as running as administrator, clearing temporary files, new folder, using safe mode, etc. Always the same result now. I am running Windows 10 Pro with excellent hardware and network resources.
The first error I get is an MSYS2 installation error saying require cannot load rake. Then, I get a series of errors with gems unable to generate native extensions. Finally, I get an error trying to build the sample because the Rails folder is specified incorrectly. I was able to get by that last one by changing the Rails directory and running the install manually. But, the MSYS2 load failure seems to be key to the problem, especially since I cannot generate native extensions even following the install, such as by attempting to upgrade Rails to 5.2.3.
I have the log and screenshots of the errors. I am hoping that when I click next I can upload them...
