I installed WAMP on Windows Server 2016 Datacenter, running on VMware7.1.
The server is very basic, running reverse proxy for two backend servers.
After installing WAMP, I removed most of the Bitnami structure in the config files because I want the configuration to be as flat as possible so it’s easy to see.
Everything is working well until I turn on mod_security2.
I configured mod_security2 using the following instructions, except the path to the module is: modules/mod_security2/mod_security2.so
I configured it using the following instructions (except paths are set according to my filesystem structure):
I get the following error in the Windows event log (line 195 is the LoadModule directive for mod_security2):
The Apache service named reported the following error:
httpd.exe: Syntax error on line 195 of C:/Bitnami/wampstack-7.3.15-0/apache2/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load modules/mod_security2/mod_security2.so into server: The specified module could not be found. .
