How to upgrade jQuery in Moodle

What kind of instance are you using (installer, virtual machine, cloud instance)? Could you please describe a little bit more your problem (e.g. how you did run into it, what you have tried, the purpose, ... )

Hello @jcarmona,

Instance - Cloud instance (AWS), Approach A: Using system packages
Version - LMS 3.9.2-11
Problem - In vulnerability scan result, got jQuery 2.2.0 < 3.5.0 Cross-Site Scripting

In order to fix this, need to Upgrade to jQuery version 3.5.0 or later. Need help to upgrade, will this upgrade impact the service.

Hi @arunkumar.chinna

The latest version of jQuery used by Moodle is 3.4.1, and in fact this versions seems to be the one that is present in your stack as well.

$ ls /opt/bitnami/moodle/lib/jquery | grep "jquery-"
jquery-3.4.1.js
jquery-3.4.1.min.js

As this is a matter of the developer supporting the newer version 3.5.0 of jQuery, I'd suggest you to contact the Moodle Support team to have further details on why they are not supporting it.
