Found the answer to my problem. Watched this video from Youtube: /watch?v=Qdt0VLJCBMI and followed the last answer from this Stackoverflow question: /questions/19101286/.
For anyone using XAMPP and used the bitnami-module installer to install moodle, the config.php that needs to be edited is located at: "\apps\moodle\htdocs\config.php"
Within the config file I changed:
$CFG->wwwroot = 'http://localhost/moodle';
$CFG->wwwroot = 'http://replace with servers local IP/moodle';
