Description:
Actually my issue is both in regards to the Bitnami site with regard to ResourceSpace and with regard to the Bitnami installer for ResourceSpace. When I go into the Bitnami Application Catalog, look up ResourceSpace, and view the page for it, the page has, unmistakably, The page explicitly states, "Do you already have WAMP / MAMP / LAMP installed? If you already have WAMP, MAMP or LAMP installed, you can add Bitnami ResourceSpace Stack on top of that installation using a module: "
So I click the link for ResourceSpace module for WAO (Windows). That takes me to the page for such modules, but try as I might I can't find such a module for ResourceSpace whether by search or by manually scanning all entries.
I have horrendous memories of doing a Bitnami ResourceSpace installation. Despite the fact that I already had an Apache web server and a MySQL server installed and running, the Bitnami installer proceeded to install both without even giving me the opportunity to decline the installation. After that was done, during which time my system services for both were overwritten for both the Apache web server and the MySQL server. That caused me to curse Bitnami most vociferously and vehemently, as well as swear that I would never, ever use something as primitive, untested, and maldesigned as Bitnami ever again.
Now, some time has passed, and I'm compelled to try Bitnami once again. I am immediately confronted with the kind of incompetency that I've reported above.
At this point, I have only one question to ask. The Bitnami installer for ResourceSpace s, obviously, not going to work. Can I simply go to the ResourceSpace website, download their non-Bitnami installer, install it on my working copy of WAMPServer? What changes would I have to make to WAMPServer to get ResourceSpace to work within it.
The only reason why I've even entertained the idea of using a Bitnami installation is to get ResourceSpace and a few other modules working easily. Of course, I also expect WAMPServer to run my other development websites — in this case with ResourceSpace supporting them. I thought I'd found a simpler route to follow.
Of course, that route seems to have taken an immeasurably more complicated turn. If I can't get ResourceSpace to work within my original copy of WAMPServer and everything else that I have working in that environment, then, of course, I will be compelled to eradicate Bitnami from my system and go back to XAMPP.
I'm hoping that someone will be able to tell me how, from personal experience, to get ResourceSpace installed and working within an existing WAMPServer environment.
