Keywords: Moodle - Google Cloud Platform - How to - Domain Name (DNS)
I had a Bitnami WP site set up with an FQDN www.myoldFQDN.com.
Then I had a Bitnami Moodle site set up with a different IP address from the Bitnami WP site. I had oldsubdomain.myoldFQDN.com pointing to the Bitnami Moodle install.
I now have a new Bitnami Moodle site set up with a new IP address. I also have a new FQDN. For branding purposes, I want to use the new FQDN.
Everything is working in the new set up. When I go to www.newFQDN.com, I go to my WP site. When I go to newsubdomain.newFQDN.com I go to my new Moodle site. Just like I want.
Here is my problem, I want to redirect oldsubdomain.oldFQND.com to redirect to newsubdomain.newFQDN.com. I set up a redirect in Google Domains and the redirect works but when the browser arrives at the redirect, the URL in the browser address bar is the oldsubdomain.oldFQDN.com. I would like it to be newsubdomain.newFQDN.com.
The problem manifests itself because I don't have an SSL certificate installed on the new server for oldsubdomain.oldFQDN.com. Consequently, the browser gives off an non-secure warning.
What should I do?
Thanks in advance.
