Sorry the topic choice didn't have the right options to select.
I have used a Bitnami installed to put Opencart 3 on a local host (using XAMPP). I have now found out that Bitnami moves the htaccess file to a different location than default and it's causing problems now I'm putting the page online.
1) The conf folder it the htaccess file is located is a sister directory to the opencart root directory. This means I can't have the opencart directory as the website root directory, and will need to be a subfolder next to one called conf.
2) I have an extension (nitro cache) which is trying to edit the default htaccess. I'm guessing any changes there are now null and void due to Bitnami's changes.
So what file do I modify to specify where the website is looking for it's htaccess file?
