How can I access my WordPress database if I'm using Lightsail?

Keywords: WordPress - AWS - How to - Services (Apache, MariaDB, MySQL…)

Description:
I have been able to connect to my database using MySQL Workbench but no tables appear. When I use the instructions to create a tunnel and connect by typing the ip address or domain name in the browser followed by phpmyadmin I still get the error For security reasons, this URL is only accessible using localhost (127.0.0.1) as the hostname.

So how can i access my WordPress database?

Hi @clementoke,

With the SSH tunnel open you need to access using 127.0.0.1/phpmyadmin:

Thanks Michiel, I have tried that too. Is it different for Lightsail? Can I use software like MySQL Benchmark to access it?

Hi @clementoke,

Can you try this guide?

Michiel

Hi Michiel,
The instructions talk about setting up the server for remote access. Is that possible with WordPress on Lightsail?

Hi @clementoke,

Yes, it should be possible. Can you try following the steps in the guide?

Regards,
Michiel

Hi @michiel,
That didn’t work. I’m getting error 60 when connecting so I don’t know if it’s because it won’t allow remote connections.
Kind Regards,
Clement
