We understand your frustration. I recommended you the sftp guide because I thought that only the port forwarding of port 80 was not working. Have you tried adding another port forwarding to port 22?
And about 2nd link, its the same GUI based editing which I cant do as the OS provided is commandline.
It is not exactly like that. That is phpMyAdmin, which is web-based. You could try accessing it via 127.0.0.1:1080/phpmyadmin. We know that Prestashop was not working, but could you check if that works? If it is not working then we know that there's also something wrong in your Virtualbox configuration.
It is not my ego but I think Prestashop made a mistake. Atleast
acknowledging it instead of denying me on technical crap, would have
Please note that we are not the authors of Prestashop, we only package it. I also agree that it is problematic not being NAT-compatible.
I am no linux guy, but hey I didnt declare that Bitnami VMs is just
as easy as load and go.Its the Bitnami itself that declared this. Right!!!
Once again, we understand your frustration. However, please note that you are trying to make a NAT-incompatible application work in NAT. Therefore, that implies technical operations (difficult for a non-expert user). Please let me insist on the following: is there a particular reason why you cannot use Bridged mode? If you use Bridged mode it will have an own IP address inside the same network as your Windows box, thus not being necessary to do any kind of IP Forwarding. Moreover, by using Bridged mode, it will work out-of-the-box.
