Have you installed any plugin or modified any configuration file?: No
Describe here your question/suggestion/issue (expected and actual results):
I have installed the Bitnami Joomla (3.8.2) on Linux stack on a VM in Azure from the Azure Marketplace a few days ago. In the fresh Installation the following languages are pre-installed:
I assume that you (bitnami) include them to save speakers of those languages the effort of installing them, However, that has at least the following unwanted side-effect: Even after Romanian, Chinese, Russian and Portugese are uninstalled, a message keeps coming up in the Joomla! Control Panel that there are updates for those language extensions. So, either there is a bug in Joomla! that does not allow the complete uninstallation of those languages or for some reason the way the language extensions are bundled in the bitnami stack prevents them from being completely removed. What is more, the notifications in the Joomla! Control Panel say that for Russian the "installed" version is 126.96.36.199 and for the other four the installed vesion it is "unknown", even though on the page of installed languages, recent versions are quoted. Do you have any indications that this might be due to the way that you bündle the language extensions in your Linux/Joomla stack? Under these circumstances, might it not be an idea not to bündle any language extensions other than English?
