Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
I simply want to make an FTP or SFTP connection with a Bitnami-Drupal/Ubuntu/LAMP server running on VirtualBox. I'm not concerned with security at the moment as it's only for my local network and running on an expendable test machine. I can add security later once I've got the basics working.
I've been hunting around for the solution and tried many things for many hours.
I have Bitnami Drupal/Ubuntu 7.30/14.04 running in VirtualBox 4 hosted on Windows 7-64bit.
I can access the Drupal site on the host machine and another machine on the same network.
However FTP access evades me. I've installed vsftpd and tried connecting using various addresses, ports, and other settings.
I was wondering if Windows firewall was blocking it but I've now disabled it for the private network and I'm getting the same problems.
I've just installed the Ubuntu desktop to make things easier and, after restarting the virtual machine, the desktop appeared normally but I can only login as Guest.
It lists 2 users: bitnamiftp and msql. The system password doesn't work so I'm stuck there.
I've previously tried Drupal Quickstart which has the desktop preinstalled. However I ran into similar problems after installing vsftpd.
