Thank you very much @dbarranco for your support and for sharing this info. Anyway, please note that the forum thread is from 2010, and it seems like the information posted there is a bit outdated.
/lib directory does not contain the said files, that are instead included in
/lib64> ls -la | grep ncurses
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 3 nov 16.22 libncurses.so.6 -> libncurses.so.6.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 166960 3 nov 16.24 libncurses.so.6.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 3 nov 16.23 libncursesw.so.6 -> libncursesw.so.6.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 240872 3 nov 16.24 libncursesw.so.6.0
/lib64> ls -la | grep tinfo
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 3 nov 16.22 libtinfo.so.6 -> libtinfo.so.6.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 173272 3 nov 16.24 libtinfo.so.6.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 3 nov 16.23 libtinfow.so.6 -> libtinfow.so.6.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 177624 3 nov 16.24 libtinfow.so.6.0
As you can see, both
libtinfo are present, and I'm a bit reclutant to delete one of them in order to replace it with a symlink to the other, without fully knowing the system workings.
I don't know if the version matters here, I can try to create
5.0 links that point to the current
6.0 files and see if this works.
