Hi @dom.caracappa, there are a few known issues with the Bitnami HTTPS Configuration tool that we are working on fixing.
One of those is that it allow users to enable HTTP to HTTPS redirections in WordPress Multisite, which has the URL (including the http:// protocol prefix) hardcoded in the database.
We will configure the tool not to allow enabling redirections on this stack, due to the issues it may causes. Instead we will show users a warning with a documentation link, that explains how to enable HTTP to HTTPS redirections manually.
In order to avoid this issue happening, please do the following:
Fixing permanent redirection issues
Run the Bitnami HTTPS Configuration Tool again, enter the same list of domains, and make sure the existing certificate is detected with the warning that is shown.
In the next page (Changes to perform), you will see this text:
You can modify the list of changes to perform if you select 'No'
Do you agree to these changes? [Y/n]:
Enter "n" (or no), and you will be directed to another page where you will be prompted this:
Enable HTTP to HTTPS redirection [Y/n]:
Enable non-www to www redirection [Y/n]:
Enable www to non-www redirection [y/N]:
Enter "n" (no) again to all of those options, and once you're back to the "Changes to perform" page the following text should NOT appear anymore:
6. Enable HTTP to HTTPS redirection (example: redirect ...)
7. Enable non-www to www redirection (example: redirect ...)
Now that the text does not appear anymore, agree to the changes (enter "y" or yes) and the redirection should be disabled.
After this, since the redirection that was configured was a permanent redirection, you may need to open a private/incognito window in your browser to see if the changes were fixed (refreshing the cache should fix the issue in your current session).
Enabling HTTPS site in WordPress Multisite (to avoid redirection to HTTP site)
There are several sites that describe how to do this, e.g.:
We still need to improve our documentation on forcing HTTP to HTTPS redirection on WordPress, as this guide is causing issues.
I hope it helps!
