Hello I have not been able to access my server for 4 weeks my site has been down. I saw there was a space issue and increased by 40GB, currently, I have 43GB available

Hi @gangstanizzerd,

thanks for using Bitnami. Your database is down, could you run the following command?

sudo /opt/bitnami/ctlscript.sh start mysql

Hello thanks for the response. I am running the command now. I believe I ran that command yesterday. But I forgot to mention that.

Here is the output i received:

sudo /opt/bitnami/ctlscript.sh start mysql
/opt/bitnami/mysql/scripts/ctl.sh : mysql could not be started
Monitored mysql

@lbone I was wondering, if i took a snapshot would i be able to create a new instance and use the snapshots and fix the original issue of it not being enough space? and possibly save my data?

After More Research I remembered I removed some files as well. Not Sure what they were but they freed up enough space so that i could extend the harddrives:

files that I removed via history

rm /opt/bitnami/mysql/data/ib_logfile1
rm /opt/bitnami/mysql/data/binlog.000012 /opt/bitnami/mysql/data/binlog.0 00010

sudo growpart /dev/xvda 1

unable to expand due to no space so i removed the below as well

162 rm /tmp/brbe3f9e
164 sudo growpart /dev/xvda 1
165 cd ‘/tmp/growpart.4035
166 cd ‘/tmp/growpart
167 rm /tmp/br854b6c
168 rm /tmp/br447679

Sorry for so many messages I just wanted to make sure i provided as much info on what I did as possible. Thanks for the help, Please let me know if my data can be salvaged

If I did a snap shot can I just create a new instance to keep the data?

The following guide shows how you can attach an EBS volume to your instance that caused the issue. Could you try it?

this error is become the most harmful error for me in the past few months i didnt find the solution that how to get rid from it permanently can some one guide me the best plan to solve my issue.

Same here, I'm thinking of moving away from Bitnami, i asked for Support, and lost everything. I have to recreate my entire site, So I feel your pain. & the articles that everyone shares will be of no hope trust me. You got a response way before I did.

Could you add more information about that?
Did you try to disable the binary logs https://docs.bitnami.com/aws/apps/wordpress/troubleshooting/disable-binary-logging-mysql/?
