Error AH00526 with Bitnami HTTPS Configuration Tool

Keywords: WordPress - AWS - Technical issue - Secure Connections (SSL/HTTPS)
Description:
Hello!

We have an AWS LightSail Wordpress instance. After months of manually renewing Let’s Encrypt SSL certifications with this tutorial, we decided to follow the Bitnami how-to to obtain the SSL certificates automatically for future renewals.

Before starting the Bitnami tutorial, we deleted our existing certificates with certbot delete

Then, we began the Bitnami tutorial with sudo /opt/bitnami/bncert-tool

Unfortunately, we receive the following error:

Bitnami installation directory [/opt]: /opt/bitnami

Warning: The web server configuration check failed. Please fix the configuration
error:
AH00526: Syntax error on line 46 of
/opt/bitnami/apache2/conf/bitnami/bitnami.conf:
SSLCertificateFile: file '/opt/bitnami/apache2/conf/server.crt' does not exist
or is empty
Press [Enter] to continue:^C

Any ideas how to fix this problem so we can proceed with the tutorial?

Thanks!

Note: We attempted to use The Bitnami Support Tool Bundle

The support bundle file was successfully created, but the automatic upload to Bitnami servers failed. You will ne
ed to upload it to your Bitnami Support ticket manually. Please locate the following file in your file browser or
in your terminal: /tmp/bitnami-wordpress-info-20200831-223555-26958.zip Exercise caution when uploading the resu
lting support bundle to public sites as it contains detailed diagnostic information.

Hi @willbeing,

Thanks for using Bitnami! It seem you don’t have dummy certificates bundled with the stack.
Could you please check this post of the community?

If you still have a problem please rerun the bnsupport and if appears again this message, could you send me a private message with the link (of google drive or similar)?

Hi @Ibone,

Thanks for the response. After entering the first command from your linked post:

sudo openssl genrsa -out /opt/bitnami/apache2/conf/server.key 2048

We receive the following:

/opt/bitnami/apache2/conf/server.key: No such file or directory
139715785508504:error:02001002:system library:fopen:No such file or directory:bss_file.c:4
13:fopen('/opt/bitnami/apache2/conf/server.key','w')
139715785508504:error:20074002:BIO routines:FILE_CTRL:system lib:bss_file.c:415:

Can you help us resolve this so we can continue creating a dummy certificate?

I’ll send you the bnsupport file via private message.

Thanks,
Will

Unfortunately, it looks like we don’t have permission on this forum to send you a private message.

It looks like we were able to run bn-cert-tool successfully. This is how we did it:

We followed the AWS cert tutorial to manually recertify SSL.

Then, we followed these insturctions to re-generate the dummy certificates.

Finally, we ran the bncert-tool via this tutorial. We simply ran:

sudo /opt/bitnami/bncert-tool

It ran successfully. Thanks for your help! We ran sudo /opt/bitnami/bnsupport-tool again after obtaining the new SSL certificate. The automatic upload to Bitnami servers failed again. If you’d like to check it please let me know how to message you privately!

Thanks again,
Will

Hi @willbeing,

what goods news! If every it’s working we don’t need the file of bnsupport-tool. I close the ticket, do not hesitate to write us back if you have any other questions.

Regards,
Ibone.
