I have 7 sites on my WordPress Multi installation on Google Cloud Free Tier. After updating the core, plugins, templates and the WP network, all the sites stopped responding with an ERR_TIMED_OUT. SSH also stopped responding.
I left it as it was for the whole night and the system was back to work in the morning.
** But.... as soon as I started to play with the wp-admin of this installation, it started to ERR_TIMED_OUT again.**
** My sites, all together, never reach 100 page views per day.**
Some things that I noticed:
a) My average VM instance utilization is below 60%;
b) While updating the core, plugins, themes, etc, it went up to 300% for almost 6 hours in a row.
c) When I went back to wp-admin and started making minor configuration changes, it went back to ERR_TIMED_OUT
d) SSH also does not connect
Hopefully it gets back to work after some time.
I just would like to understand if I can limit my VM instance to not work above 100%. I'm testing that Google Cloud is grounding my site because I used above 100% of my VM instance. Does it make any sense?
