Review Board on
It was installed via exe installer.
When I'm trying to add new git repository, error appears: "environment can only contain strings"
It seems that it can be related with Python.
Do someone faced this issue? How to solve it?
I'm not able to reproduce it. I've just tested it and added a remote git repository properly. Could you give me more details to try to reproduce it? Which version of ReviewBoard are you using?
The same for ReviewBoard 2.0.5 installed locally on Win8 64bit, 8081 port.
Can I grab some logs that may help?
Are you configuring a local or a remote repository? What is the path that you are setting?
I've tried both, result is the same (hosting service - None):
Adding my public github repo succeeded (hosting service - GitHub).
Same issue here.
I'm trying to add a custom git web repository and get the same error: "environment can only contain strings".
The path of my remote git repository is like this: https://*****************.git
Trying to set a local repository yields: "[Errno 11001] getaddrinfo failed".
Any help would be appreciated.
Are you also using ReviewBoard Stack for Windows? Which version are you using?
This seems to be an issue more related to the application that to our stack configuration. Could you please also post this issue in ReviewBoard forums?
Yes, it's reviewboard stack for windows, version 22.214.171.124.
I will follow your suggestion.
Please let us know if you find any solution, that would help to others users in your same situation.

Was this issue ever resolved? I'm running into the same error on a Windows 7 VM.
Thanks Fernando. I did see that thread earlier, but unfortunately it doesn't resolve the issue. I tried their patches and they didn't change the error. That fix is supposedly integrated into RBTools almost 3 months ago, so would it be included in the current Bitnami stack?
I think the problem is that any literal strings that are used throughout the python code will need to be converted to byte strings, for windows.
This happens when I'm trying to add a repository, so it's a complete non-starter for me.
Hello @zkhan, @sirkorro, @kzotin and @student_sfv
I was able to reproduce the problem.
For local repositories, in order to get rid of getaddrinfo error, you must specify them like
Nevertheless, ReviewBoard don't officially support Windows since 1.6, and we are using versions above 2.0, although it should work.
In Bitnami, we continue offering ReviewBoard updated versions for Windows but we may encounter some issues. We will try to find a solution in the following days.
However for production environments we recommend Linux system.
