Currently, I have MongoDB version 3.0.4 in my EC2 instance. I am trying to enable SSL for all server communications. As part of that, I have added the following key values in the mongodb.conf files.
sslMode = requireSSL
sslPEMKeyFile = /opt/bitnami/mongodb/certificates/server-cert.pem
sslCAFile = /opt/bitnami/mongodb/certificates/ca.pem
After updating the conf file when I start mongo, I am getting the following error.
Error parsing INI config file: unknown option sslMode
try '/opt/bitnami/mongodb/bin/mongod --help' for more information
/opt/bitnami/mongodb/scripts/ctl.sh : mongodb could not be started
I have the following questions.
1) which version of MongoDB (Bitnami stack) supports SSL?
2)If I upgrade to version 3.4, does it support SSL? How does it affect the data?
3) I know that only certain distribution of MongoDB supports SSL. Which is the one? How to perform the upgrade without affecting the data?
Thanks in advance.
